Baby’s are driven by involuntary reflexes it is how the baby brain talks to the body - they will express unless something blocks them. Rhythmic innate movements need to happen (repetition) for the integration of the reflexes so that deep muscle memory and motor skills can develop and to help babies “unwind” post-birth. Rhythmic movement is a method for overcoming infant feeding challenges and oral/ body tension by calming and helping disorganised infant reflexes.
